so much to say

So much to write about, but not enough time. My dad still isn't doing well. (go back an entry to read what I wrote awhile ago, but just now posted) He now has thrush, but did call the doc about that who gave him a prescription over the phone. He's going through all of his papers, cleaning things out. He said this evening that the garbage bin outside probably weighed 100 pounds, and he still has more paper to go through. Still preparing to die.

However, he did at least, tell my mother about his arrangements. Lousy timing--he told her 5 minutes before I was to arrive home where we were going to run and try to catch a movie that started as soon as I got home. But at least she now knows and I don't have to feel like I'm hiding something major from her. She was upset that she was the last to know (my dad told my brother the night before) and that he hadn't discussed it with her. And that he doesn't want a funeral or memorial service. I didn't know about that--and that makes me mad. I didn't go to my grandfather's funeral, and I've always regretted that--wondered if it would have been easier for me to accept he was dead and not have such a difficult time with his death if I'd been able to go. And now my dad doesn't want one.

Today is Artboy and my 2nd Anniversary. Two years ago, we met at the Fox and Hound for the first time, after a month or so of emailing and phone conversations. We both knew that night that there was something special between us, and here we are two years later. I'm so very lucky to have found him...and I know he considers himself lucky as well. I can't believe it's been two years. Since he had to work (he tried to get off, and called me all upset, expecting me to be upset with him as well), we'll be going back to the Fox and Hound on Saturday night...to remember where it all began. Too bad the pool hall we went to afterwards closed. That would have been fun too.

We hired a new receptionist today. THey brought her in for a second interview so Dr Ass could meet her, and she arrived early. My boss brought her into the kitchen where I was making a cup of coffee and asked me to interview her. Ack! I've never interviewed anyone--only been through a couple interviews myself, and that's been years ago. I got thru it, but I told him afterwards that wasn't cool. Warn a girl next time so she can prepare some questions!

Anyway, the new girl is young, but very outgoing and seems to handle conflict well. We both have the same name, so that's going to be challenging. And her birthday is 2 days before mine. Heh.

So so tired. I must go to bed.
