training We had a training today on a copier that we are testing out for right now to see if it meets our needs. The trainer was a little weird and wasn't very organized..he didn't really seem to know what it was that he was doing any more than we did. But throughout the training, I just wanted to throttle the OA. He was trying to teach us how to make double sided copies, and she got one of her booklets that she copies every now and then and that usually "take her all day to do." He asked her how she wanted it done, and instead of answering his question, she goes on about how it is a listing of all the AA meetings in the valley and again tells us how long it usually takes her. He asks again, and she finally answers that question. Then he says that the machine can staple in the corner, but not down the center, and asks if she wants to know how to do that. "Oh no, I just need it stapled down the center." "Yes, but do you want to learn how to do it for future reference?" "Oh, I guess, if you must." Then when he was calling for help on one of my questions, she kept going on and on about how we were receiving all of our faxes through the machine..hogging it... and how this morning she wanted to use it, but couldn't because of all the faxes coming through. And that it isn't going to work out for her because when she needs to make copies, she needs to make them "RIGHT NOW!" and can't wait. And I told her that the faxes weren't coming through the machine this morning--that they were coming through my computer as usual. But she insisted that they were, and that she couldn't use it. I told her that I had sent several copies through the fax/copier//printer/scanner, but that all of the faxes had been received through my computer this morning. At no time did we receive any paper faxes through the fax/copier/printer/scanner today. The only time my boss tested it as a fax receiver was Friday night through Saturday night and decided it wasn't what he wanted to do. I told her that even if she had attempted to make a copy while the machine was sending the fax, that she would have been able to make a copy because it scans the fax, puts it into memory, and allows you to go to the next task. She insisted I was wrong, and I asked her if she'd pressed the copy button before trying to make copies. "Oh, no. I didn't do that." Yea. It isn't going to work if you don't push the button for the task you want to do first. Today was her birthday, and I completely forgot about it until I flipped the calendar to the new week this morning. I told the NR and my boss, who had us sign a card and then had his wife get some flowers for her. I'd rather just ignore it, but didn't need to make the situation here any worse. And she wonders why people in her life stop talking to her...her daughter especially. Finally treated myself for a yeast infection. I *hate* doing that. This is only my second time, but I hate it so much that if I could find a better way, I'd do it. Let's hope this helps take care of the problem. Evidently the yogurt I was eating was helping it a bit because I didn't experience any symptoms until I ran out of yogurt here at work and stopped eating it. |
