no where to run

My brother called my parents on Sunday while I was there, helping Mom scrape the paint off the garage door--looks like they are having another baby. I felt like yelling at him, "What the hell are you doing?? Are you crazy??" but I refrained. They just got back together...he said they still have a ton of things to work out. This isn't the right time to have another baby. *sigh* I wonder if she did it on purpose...Heath was a surprise...and this one is too. And she had told her mom that she wanted another baby right away...and surprisingly, her mom told her to enjoy the one she had for now. But now Heath is going to have a little brother or sister. I can't believe it.

It's never good when your family isn't joyous about such an announcement. Wish I could be. Maybe later when we've all had time to digest the information. I just hope they are able to work things out for the sake of the kid.

My sister was in an accident on Friday. She was on a photo shoot, and the driver of the van took a curve too fast in the snowy conditions and flipped the vehicle 3 times. Fortunately, my sister was wearing her seatbelt, and while she is very sore, she wasn't seriously injured. When they took xrays, they also discovered she has pneumonia, so now she's being treated for that.

My cousin was in town on Friday as well, and mom and I went to hear his band play. I'd never heard of this place before--the new owners took over in November. I think it's still trying to find it's audience, as there were very few ppl there. It was nice to catch up with my cousin though, and hear his band play. It was the first time for Mom, since Dad wouldn't let her go before, saying she was not allowed to go "Honkytonking." We didn't tell him where we were going Friday night, but by 11pm, my cousin still hadn't taken the stage--the opening band had just finished. So I called my Dad and told him that we were okay, that I'd kidnapped mom and taken her to hear my cousin's band. He was watching Monk and must not have been paying too much attention because the fit that I was expecting didn't happen. It was surprisingly easy.

I missed a message from him at midnight wondering where the hell we were, and we left 15 minutes later, during their set break. I was dog sitting and had to get back to let the dog out, and the house was an hour away. Plus, we knew Dad would freak out if we were too late. Anyway, when I called him, he was pissed and yelled, "Where the HELL have you been?" I said, "Now Dad, I called you an hour ago and told you where we were and what we were doing, so don't act like that." He accused us of "honkytonking" (what the hell is that? I don't know, but it doesn't sound good) and I told him we were not, we were at a concert. I told him we were on our way home and hung up the phone.

Surprisingly, he didn't say anything once we arrived home. Go figure.

Man, if Artboy acted like that when I told him I was going to see my cousin, that would be the end of that. I could understand him not wanting me to see an ex-boyfriend, but I couldn't accept him not allowing me to see a family member. It's not like we were anywhere dangerous. Mom said he's just jealous of her spending time with anyone else...he doesn't want to share her. Ridiculous. I wouldn't stand for that. *sigh*
